Pole dancer Beverly Sibanda aka Bev - who is popularly known for her raunchy dance moves - has fallen in love with Mutare after she clinched a deal to perform at an entertainment joint in the city once every month.

The deal, which is likely to awaken the sleepy city of Mutare, comes on the backdrop of a series of shows that the Harare-based dancer has performed at Club Mandisa.

Her last show at the same venue last month was sold-out, prompting Club Mandisa director Bonface Nyamanhindi to engage the raunchy dancer to perform on a monthly basis.

Bev, who has been on a whirlwind tour of the country where she has been reconnecting with her fans, seems to have reclaimed her throne as the best female performer in the country.

On Wednesday, Nyamanhindi confirmed that Club Mandisa and the dancer-cum-musician had struck a deal.

"We are happy with her shows here. We always have a nice time when she performs here and we have noticed that she has her own people. That is why we agreed with her to perform at our joint at least every month," he said.

Bev's manager Happers Mapimhidze said all was in place for the dancer to showcase her talent in the eastern border city.

"Yes, we have loyal fans in Mutare and we have realised that we have quite a big fan base. We will be performing at the venue whenever all the logistics are put in place," said Mapimhidze.

Club Mandisa — one of Mutare's leading entertainment spots — has rebranded to reflect on an expanded menu of local and international artists.

Notable artists that have performed at the joint include sungura music greats Nicholas "Madzibaba" Zacharia, Sulumani Chimbetu, Peter Moyo, Somandla Ndebele, Tatenda Pinjisi and the Dembo Brothers — Tendai and Morgan — among others.

Zimdancehall artists have also been rocking fans at the venue and these include Seh Calaz, Shinso Man, Freeman, Boom Berto, Kinnah and Guspy Warrior, among others.

The club has been routinely hosting various rhumba groups, including BV Labien and Diamond Musica.

Every Thursdays to Sundays, dance groups take to the stage and so far, dancers such as Apama, Bev, Zoey, Lady Storm and Wasu have been taking charge of entertaining show goers.

"We are still negotiating with other artistes and we hope that we will have something concrete. We have put in place various mechanisms that are tailor-made to satisfy the entertainment needs of all the people in and around Dangamvura," Nyamanhindi said.

Considering the innovation by Nyamanhindi and his team, Club Mandisa is on its path to maintaining its glory in the entertainment sector.
