Top sungura artiste Alick Macheso never ceases to amaze his fans and critics. At a time when his band is facing turbulance, he has employed innovative measures to keep his ship afloat.

The musician and his Orchestra Mberikwazvo band unleashed a new dance called 'Dhayamani' which was showcased at their family show held at Mega 1 last week. The new dance comes amid a dispute with Joe Kasamba who claims to be the one who came up with the 'Zora Butter' dance.

Not only did Macheso pull a surprise with the new dance, but he also reverted to chanting people's names while performing. Interestingly, he said this was NOISE a few days ago.

Despite the poor sound quality that seems to plague Macheso at most of his shows, the crowd danced the afternoon away.

In the 'Dhayamani' dance, meaning borehole in English, the dancers move back and forth in exciting choreography with their hands a bit up simulating a person pumping water from a borehole. The catch dance which is obviously Macheso's winter package for his fans comes after the previous successful dances that include the famous Zora Butter, Borrowdale, Razor Wire, Slow Motion, Tora Bute, Yambongo and Kochekera.

Never to dwell on the recent challenges that hit his camp, Macheso has once again managed to keep his head above water. And it seems the young stars in his camp are also striving to defy the odds, though there are still notable loopholes here and there.

The entourage now contains Donald Gogo and Devine Muzenda on lead guitars, Francis Poto and Tafi Nyamunda on rhythms, Elton Muropa and Wilson Mega on backing vocals, Givemore Chokumbanyara and Watson Fundula on drums and dancers Selemani 'Majuice' Mpochi, First Sakala and Forward Antonio among others.
