Mnangagwa, Chiwenga fight inevitable, says Lumumba

William Gerald Mutumanje has made astonishing claims that a war was about to erupt between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his deputy Constantino Chiwenga.

The maverick former Zanu-PF youth league official made the sensational claims in a recorded voice message in possession of the Daily News On Sunday.

This bombshell comes after Mutumanje - who is more commonly known as Acie Lumumba - was last month briefly and irregularly appointed as the head of a communications taskforce in the Finance ministry.

"This fight is inevitable. There is a real fight starting between number one (Mnangagwa) and number two (Chiwenga).

"If I am going to be useful, can I please be useful to people who are my friends and who will also look after my interests than for people who are simply using me like the way you use a condom ... you use it and throw it away. I hope you get back to me," Mutumanje said.

Lumumba also claims that he was paid $40 000 to discredit the four suspended RBZ top officials, Mirirai Chiremba, Norman Mataruka, Gresham Muradzikwa and Azvinandaa Saburi, as well as businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei.

After his earlier fingering of RBZ officials and Tagwirei in allegedly corrupt deals, Mutumanje had gone on to promise to "spill more beans" on other supposedly corrupt government officials - who he claimed were on the payroll of a powerful cartel said to be working hard to capture Mnangagwa - in the manner that the Gupta brothers in South Africa allegedly did on former president Jacob Zuma.
