Suspect brutally kills cop

A MIDDLE-SABI-BASED police officer was fatally stabbed by a suspect he had arrested over an undsiclosed offence at Chibuwe Business Centre in Chipinge on Thursday.

National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said Lloyd Mahovhana (33) had been lawfully arrested for committing an offence when he stabbed to death one Constable Kadeya.

"The suspect had no reason whatsoever to resist and, in the process, attack the police detail who was performing his constitutional duties," Nyathi said.

"The Zimbabwe Republic Police urges members of the public to co-operate and allow the law to take its course whenever one commits an offence."
