Parents of two Makobo toddlers who are said to have been sexually abused have blamed the children's ordeal on what they believe to be the works of evil forces.

The toddlers aged 3 years and 18 months respectively were recently taken to Nyangabwe Referral Hospital after showing signs of possible sexual penetration on their private parts.

The Voice Reported that Medical examinations have since been conducted and although the results have not been released yet, the little girls' 32-year old father who was detained at Tatitown police station as the immediate suspect, has been released.

The youthful father who has since joined his family in the village has put his detention misery behind him and says- together with his wife, they are determined to get to the bottom of their children's torment.

"My wife discovered a yellowish discharge and bruises on the kids' private parts while bathing them sometime early this month. We decided to take them to the clinic and the police were later called in after it was suspected that they had been sexually abused," he said.

He further explained that since he had been spending more time with the children when the mother was sick, he became an immediate suspect and was released after the tests were done.

"The police detained me for a day and I was released after they had conducted some tests on me and the children. I don't know if I've been exonerated or not because I was never informed of the outcome of the tests," he said and denied the abuse allegations.

"This is certainly the work of a tokoloshi," he added.

The toddlers' mother has also parried away any accusations against her husband.

"I've since taken my children to stay with my mother while police investigations continue and so far there haven't been any complaints. But whatever people say, I don't believe that my husband would do such a a horrible thing to his own children. It can only be a thokolosi. I think someone is bewitching us," she said.

Tatitown Police Staion Commander, Cyprian Magalila, confirmed the incident but blatantly denied the couple's claim that the victims' father had been detained as a suspect.

"Its true that we are investigating such a case, but we have never arrested anyone. There is no suspect yet," he said
