Harare town clerk's, Tendai Mahachi, fate hangs in the balance after it was revealed that Local Government minister, Saviour Kasukuwere, and Harare mayor, Bernard Munyenyeni, met last week.

Although the two could not be drawn into what they discussed, but Kasukuwere was quoted describing Mahachi as "the former town clerk", who was sent on forced leave at the end of June.

Manyenyeni said at the meeting Kasukuwere assured him that the matter between Harare and Mahachi was entirely between the two, adding that he would only intervene when and if they fail to reach consensus.

Mahachi has been at the centre of a storm at Town House with accusations of forgery, misuse of funds and residents have been demanding his ouster for failing to deliver.
