Sex workers in Bindura have fallen on hard times as a vast number of them now offer new clients one free sex round in a bid to lure more customers.

Other have resorted to barter trade.

The hookers are blaming low business on the declining number of illegal gold planners whom they said were their biggest clients.

"We used to rely on illegal gold panners as our main clients but they have since vanished in Bindura so prostitution does not pay now" said one prostitute.

Said another "Everyday there are new faces and even girls as young as 12 are roaming around the bars looking for clients hence there is still competition.

"As a way to have many clients some of us have resorted to give a free round of sex as a bonus".
