Five people were killed and 63 others injured in 68 recorded road accidents that occurred yesterday.

Police National Spokesperson, Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said the law enforcement authorities will continue with their operations to curb road carnage.

She encouraged public service vehicle drivers to avoid speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Senior Assistant Commissioner Charamba said the police will impound all unroadworthy vehicles, adding that accidents caused by mechanical defects can be avoided.

A visit to Mbare Musika bus terminus indicate that most people travelled on Friday and Saturday and today there were few people seeking transport.
