Mthwakazi Republic Party says it had a very successful road show on Wednesday afternoon at Gwanda town.

"The party left Gwanda residents and some who were coming from rural areas asking for more as they requested for rallies to be organised in their respective areas of abode. It was so touching to see both the young and the old, marvel at how Mthwakazi officials address their problems and issues without fear, in the presence of the police officers and the CIO who are over-deployed in the small town," said MRP.

"The party activists were welcomed with love and rare enthusiasm . We promised the Gwanda people to defend them from the hegemonic system that takes the form of a Shona tribe. Freedom is inevitable and will be attained soon. We continue with our rallies as programed for today and Friday. We are proceeding to Garanyemba, Ntepe, Guyu and Bethel. The resolve by Mthwakazi people to shun Harare tribal parties invigorates us to sleep on the banks of rivers in pursuit of their freedom."

Among those who are part of the marathon Gwanda rallies is the MRP President, Njabulo Ngwenya, foreign Secretary and Bulawayo central member of parliament candidate, Brighton Ithuteng SIbanda, national treasurer and MP candidate for Beitbridge West, Xolani Ncube, Youth Chair and MP candidate for Pumula, Zenzo Ncube, Mat South Chair and Insiza South MP candidate, Khulekani Nxeba Ndlovu, MP candidate for Matobo South, Honest Ncube, Umzingwane Constituency MP candidate, Ngqabutho Mpofu, Gwanda Central MP candidate, Malwande Nyathi, Gwanda South MP candidate, Partone M Xaba , MP candidate for Nkulumane, Mloyiswa Maphosa, security, JZ Moyo, Makokoba council candidate, Henry Dube Bulawayo Province organiser and council candidate for Cowdrypark, Muzi Ncube, Mthwakazi comic star, Mthandazo Ndlovu, minister of religion, Thembani Moyo, Bulawayo Province committee member and, Mfanelo Sibanda , S.A.
