Deputy Finance minister Terence Mukupe has apologised for a spate of disgraceful incidents that hogged his political life this week.

Mukupe apologised for his crude statement directed at former MDC finance minister Tendai Biti.

During a Star FM interview, the two fiercely  clashed over government perfomance during the Government of National Unity and the the current term.

In the heat of the moment, Mukupe queried if Biti had taken his life prolonging drugs, Anti-Retro Virals.

"Though I was I was abused and insulted by the context of Mr Biti's interview, I should not have responded in such a way. I apologise for the . . . remarks I made pertaining ARVs," he said in a statement.

He also apologised for his "untoward conduct during an interview at ZBC Spot FM studios barely three hours after the Star FM gaffe.

Mukupe allegedly manhandled NewsDay journalist Blessed Mhlanga and his wife, Florence.

On remarks he made while addressing a rally in his constituency where he said the army will not hand over to opposition leader even if he wins, Mukupe said he was misunderstood.

He assured the nation that the military will always stand with the people as they did in November 2017.
