Zanu-PF members who lost in the primary elections have been urged to bury the hatchet and support the winning candidate so that the revolutionary party can win resoundingly in the harmonised elections.

The call was made by the party's Youth League Political Commissar Godfrey Tsenengamu at the launch of #EDhasMYVOTE campaign in Hwange East constituency.

Tsenengamu was among the 21 candidates who contested to represent Mo Darwin South constituency in the harmonised elections but failed to make it as the winner.

Although irregularities were noted during the primary elections, the Youth League Political Commissar feels there is no need to adopt the "bhora musango" strategy and will support the winning candidate approved by the party.

"I'm going to support the candidate who won, whether it was fair or not and I am doing it for the good of the party. Those who think they are more important than the party will soon realise when they are out how tough it is out there. Infact, you will realise you have no followers because everyone will remain in the party," he said.

Member of Parliament for proportional representation in Hwange, Molly Mnkandla concurred with Tsenengamu and called on party members to campaign peacefully with the candidates who will represent Zanu-PF during the harmonised elections.

"I would like to thank all the party members who attended this event and urge you to support the candidates who won in the primary elections. I will not go back and repeat what the party has already said but it is for the good of the party that we all support one another," she said.

The party leadership in the province was requested to assist youths with transport and other resources as they prepare to travel to Mkoba Teachers College in Gweru where they are expected to be addressed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Thursday.

A "Youth ED Car Rally" will be held on Tuesday in Kwekwe as a run up to the rally while an "ED fun run" will be held on the day of the rally with winners expected to receive prizes from the President.
