MDC Veterans have hailed the MDC Alliance legislators for walking out on President Emmerson Mnangagwa in the view that he stole the victory during the election.

MDC Veterans spokesperson Mandava Blessing said they applaud the MDC MPs for walking out on Mnangagwa and leaving him to address his small ZANU PF gathering in Parliament.

"The walkout clearly speaks volumes about the state of Affairs. It clearly shows that there are still contentious issues around the legitimacy of the Presidency. Secondly, this action clearly shows that the MDC is ready to take the fight of the legitimacy of the Presidency a step further," he said.

"The move by the MPs resonates well with the general mood in the nation where everyone feels cheated. The ZANU PF side of government should seriously consider engaging the MDC in dialogue  around issues to do with the legitimacy of the Presidency, Key Economic, political and social reforms."

"We call upon Mr Mnangagwa to stop talking about engaging the MDC and really engage them. Let him walk the talk and stop political grandstanding to score cheap political points. Thank you our Honourable MPs for delivering the People's message to the August House. Indeed its time to walk the talk."
