Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE) Chancellor President Emmerson Mnangagwa capped 1719 graduates at the university's 17th graduation ceremony today.

BUSE Vice-Chancellor Professor Eddie Mwenje said the university has scored a number of outstanding research initiatives in 2018 comprising the commissioning a biodiversity information for development programme sponsored to the tune of 38 000 euros and finalising the 4-year teacher capacity development programme in which 2 204 teachers were trained in science and maths.

"We shall continue to play the critical role of bridging the science gap," said Professor Mwenje.

Among the graduates was ZRP Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi who attained a Masters in International Relations and ZBC Producer Presenter Mercy Ndhlovu who also attained a Masters degree in International Relations.

BUSE has five faculties comprising science education, agriculture and environment science, social science and commerce science which have so far produced 11 756 graduates.
