Opposition Leader Nelson Chamisa has rejected the Leader of the opposition office that President Mnangagwa had offered him.

Said Chamisa, "Mnangagwa is fascinating. I was voted by the people to be President and he wants to make me an opposition Leader. Its like saying the people bought me a Television and Mnangagwa says here is a remote. I will be stupid to accept it.

"I want my position that I was given by the people so that people can get jobs , go school and be a happy nation.

"If Mnangagwa wants to be an opposition leader he must create that office and go there and occupy it. I was elected by the people. I will not accept breadcrumbs when the people of Zimbabwe gave me a bakery.

"Mnangagwa thinks I am (Morgan) Tsvangirai's boy and since Tsvangirai is late he can runover me. He is misleading himself, we are going to match each other pound for pound."

In September Mnangagwa told the United States-based Bloomberg TV, that he was considering opposition leader perks.

"Under our Commonwealth parliamentary democracy, the opposition is recognised; we recognise the leader of the opposition in Parliament. This is what we are going to do ourselves," Mnangagwa said.

"But under the former administration, there was no formal recognition of the opposition leader but now under my administration, we are embracing the Commonwealth approach to parliamentary democracy where we recognise the leader of the opposition who is given certain conditions and perks in Parliament."
