Solar energy is forever

Solar energy is forever

Working for yesteryears PTC was everyone's aspiration and great wish. The entity was in comfort zone, it considered postage stamp sales its cash cow and permanent source of huge revenues till 'boys came into town' and upended the apple-cart.

The Mobile Telecommunications technology came with a bang and postage stamps became obsolete overnight. PTC was faced with bankruptcy, cat strikes became order of the day as workers demanded a bigger piece of the smaller cake. Staff turnover became an everyday occurrence.

Former banking halls are now where to get fan belts and automotive filters. PTC were well positioned to start mobile telecommunications business but they slept on the job. Now that electricity is an endangered species, refrigeration companies must start manufacturing solar powered units.

The opportunity is now, this is the time to invest in solar powered domestic fridges and freezers. Why are you waiting, what for? Government does not manufacture goods, its simply an abler. In general Africa does not have enough electricity no matter what punters say.

Our 'more than enough engineers' must look beyond Zambezi river and Hwange generated electricity and work on solar energy. Even if we are to get enough power today, most of our people have moved on to solar energy and the power utility will generate power for a reduced clientele. My advice to fellow Zimboz is to start considering electricity a goner, an EX who may call or never.

Let's embrace solar energy now. Nocturnal domestic chores should be of yesterday and never again. when power returns its good and when it does not return just remember solar energy is for ever.
